El rasclet podria haver niat al Parc Natural Aiguamolls de l’Empordà segons sembla indicar la presència de juvenils a la zona a primers de mes. Una cita de  baldriga grisa mar enfora al Tarragonès va ser potser l’observació més interessant del mes d’agost de 2019 que va ser un dels més tranquils dels darrers anys.

A pair of Black-shouldered Kites Elanus caeruleus bred near Garriguella, Alt Empordà: a bird was already seen by early june (Joan Budó and Enric Capalleras). The bird was seen for a month in that area (E.Capalleras, M.Barrios).Then by early july a 2nd adult was found in the same area and was mating the first. On 9.8 the two adults were seen with a juvenile (M.Barrios, A.Campsolinas) and later in August a juvenile was seen in the area.

The first Pectoral Sandpiper Calidris melanotos the autumn of 2004 was an adult seen on 16.8 at El Goleró area, PN Delta de l’Ebre, Baix Ebre (David Bigas). On 30.8.2004 a juvenile was found at Bassa del Gall Marí, PN Aiguamolls de l’Empordà, Alt Empordà (J.Martí-Aledo, Mireia Jiménez). The first on 2003 at the same place was seen on 31.8.

One Lesser Crested Tern Thalasseus bengalensis was seen on 18.8.2004 at la Rogera lagoon, PN Aiguamolls de l’Empordà within a party of 40 Sandwich Terns (Jordi Martí-Aledo, Teresa Montràs).

The adult Elegant Tern Thalasseus elegans and the hybrid chick (sandvicensis x elegans) were still at PN Delta de l’Ebre on 4.8.2004 and the chick was about to begin flying one of those days (David Bigas, Clemente Álvarez-Usátegui, Ricard Gutiérrez). An attempt to trap the adult failed on 5.8 due to windy conditions (D.Bigas, S.Sales, C.Álvarez-Usátegui, R.Gutiérrez, Yago/PN Delta de l’Ebre).On 9.8.2004 it was seen at the beach not associated to the hybrid chick (D.Bigas).It was still there on 17.8 (David Bigas).

A dark grey & white Presumed Hybrid Western Reef x Little Egret Egretta gularis x garzetta individual was seen at Filipines marsh, Llobregat delta, Baix Llobregat on 16.8.2009 (Sergi Torné, Sergi Bueno) and 17.8 (Ferran López). A typical individual was seen at la Tancada saltpans, Delta de l’Ebre, Tarragona where an almost resident bird occurred the previous years. The individual was seen on 6.8.2009 (Jorge de la Cruz); 19 & 23.8 (Josep Tantull, Roser Solé). It was showing a rather different plumage to those of previous months but it could be related to moult and wear. See a photo enclosed (Josep Tantull)

A Pectoral Sandpiper Calidris melanotos was found at Migjorn area, Delta de l’Ebre, Baix Ebre on 10.8 (Roser Solé, Josep Tantull).

One juvenile Citrine Wagtail Motacilla citreola was found at cal Tet, Llobregat Delta, Baix Llobregat, on 28.8 (Ferran López, Sergi Torné).It remained there on 31.8 (Ferran López). A 2nd juvenile individual shared grounds with the first at the same pond at cal Tet, Llobregat Delta, Baix Llobregat, on 31.8 (Ferran López).

There was a dark phase Western Reef Egret Egretta gularis gularis at Canal Vell lagoon, Delta de l’Ebre, Baix Ebre, on 10.8.2014 (Paco Castro, Paco Lopo, Miquel Angel Garcia, Bernat Garcia, Àlex Estellé). See a photo below (Miquel Àngel Garcia). The bird was relocated on 20.8 entering the roost at dusk at Canal Vell lagoon, Delta de l’Ebre, Tarragona (Cristian Jensen, Alex Estellé).

The Presumed hybrid Western Reef x Little Egret seen intermitently in the Llobregat delta, Baix Llobregat since early 2014 was seen again this time at Riera Roja, Sant Boi de Llobregat, Baix Llobregat on 24.8.2014 (Eio Ramón). See a photos enclosed (Eio Ramón).

There was an adult Pacific Golden Plover Pluvialis fulva at Migjorn fields on 3.8.2014 morning (David Bigas). It was later seen by more observers, when photographed (Marc Gàlvez, José Guerra, Josep Tantull, Roser Solé; Josep Crusafont, Albert Cama, Ricard Gutiérrez). See a photo below (Josep Tantull). This bird might have arrived the day before at dusk when a Golden Plover (P.apricaria), present intermitently since late July (D.Bigas pers.com.) was also present (R.Gutiérrez). The Pacific Golden Plover remained in the area some days: 4.8 (Josep Tantull, Roser Solé, Marc Gàlvez, José Guerra), 5.8 (Miquel Bonet @ornitho.cat) and 8.8 (Josep Tantull, Roser Solé).

There was an adult at Migjorn fields on 27.8 (Josep Tantull, Roser Solé). It was photographed and underwing was clearly checked. It remained in the same area the following days: 29.8 (Josep Tantull, Roser Solé), 30.8 (Cristian Jensen/Audouin Birding Tours, Âlex Estellé et al) and 31.8 (Harold Wijts)

One White-rumped Sandpiper Calidris fuscicollis was found on 14.8.2015 at IRTA ricefields, Amposta, Delta de l’Ebre, Montsià (Josep Tantull, Roser Solé). News were spread and a number of observers could see the bird. On the following days it was relocated, first at the same field, then in a nearby also experimental ricefield: 15.8 (Lluís Gustamante), 16.8 (Bernat Iglesias, Aleix Comas; José Guerra, Javier Train et al). Later relocated at Cambra Arrossera del Montsià experimental ricefields, Amposta, Delta de l’Ebre, Montsià (Sofia Rivaes, Xavier Riera, Mònica Martí, Lídia Pérez).The bird was seen a few days more at the initial site: 17.8 (Javier Train et al); 18.8 (Josep Tantull, Roser Solé), 19.8 (Moisés Moreno, Xavier Escobar; Ricard Gutiérrez) and 20.8 (Josep Tantull, Roser Solé), when it was last seen.

The presumably oversummering Terek Sandpiper Xenus cinereus at Punta de la Banya, Montsià, was seen again on 25.8.2014 (Jordi Martí-Aledo, Carles Domingo).

The three Red-necked Phalarope Phalaropus lobatus seen in late July were seen again at Punta de la Banya, Delta de l’Ebre, Montsià on 1.8. At least one remained there on 2.8 (Jordi Martí-Aledo).Two of them remained on 3.8 at Punta de la Banya (Jordi Marti-Aledo).See a photo enclosed (Jordi Martí-Aledo). There was one more on 12.8 at Estany d’Europa, PN Aiguamolls de l’Empordà, Alt Empordà (Rosa Matesanz). Later seen by more authors. The bird remained there on 16.8 (Marc Casas @ ornitho.cat).

On 8.8 an adult Elegant-like Tern Thalasseus elegans was seen at Tarragona harbour, Tarragona (Albert Cama).

  • Baldriga grisa / Sooty Shearwater Ardenna grisea (n=1)

(1) TarragonèsA bird was seen 10-15 nautic miles off Tarragona on 10.8 (Matxalen Pauly/ Programa de observadores de l’IEO). See two photos below.

  • Híbrid de Martinet dels Esculls i Martinet blanc/ Presumed hybrid Western Reef x Little Egret Egretta gularis x garzetta (n=1)

(1) Alt EmpordàA white spotted bird was seen on 2.8 at Aguait Quim Franch, Aiguamolls de l’Empordà, Alt Empordà (Jordi Oliveres @ornitho.cat).

 

  • Rasclet / Baillon’s Crake Porzana pusilla (n=1)

(1-2) Alt Empordà On 1.8 two juveniles were seen at estany del Cortalet, in front of Quim Franch hide (Albert Burgas; Jordi Martí-Aledo @birdingemporda.com). Both were still present on 2.8 (Jordi Oliveres; Fran Trabalon @ornitho.cat).

(3) Alt Empordà On 1.8 another juvenile was seen at Closa del Puig, Castelló d’Empúries, Alt Empordà (Albert Burgas @ornitho.cat).

 

  • Cornella emmantellada / Hooded Crow Corvus cornix (n=3)

(1-2) Baix Llobregat. Two birds were seen at El Prat de Llobregat on 9.8 (Pau Esteban @ornitho.cat).

(3) Vallès Oriental. A bird was seen on 16.8 at Gallecs, Mollet del Vallès, Vallès Oriental feeding on the ground with two Carrion Crows Corvus corone (Xavi Escobar @ornitho.cat). On 22.8 presumably the same bird was seen at Palau de Plegamans, Vallès Occidental (Cristian Bonsoms @ornitho.cat). nOn 24.4 the bird was at Gallecs, Mollet del Vallès, Vallès Occidental (Bernat Iglesias @eBird), on 26.8 the bird was seen at Gallecs, Mollet del Vallès, Vallès Oriental (Javi Mendoza @ornitho.cat; Enric Fontcuberta @eBird) and Hostal del Fum, Palau-Solità i Plegamans, Vallès Occidental (Toni Aparicio @ornitho.cat). On 28.8 it was still at Hostal del Fum (Cristian Bonsoms @ornitho.cat).

 

  • Tallarol xerraire / Lesser Whitethroat  Sylvia curruca  (n=1)

(1) Pallars Jussà. A bird was seen at La Torre de Cabdella, Pallars Jussà on 11.8 (Bernat Garcia, Pere Josa).
